Go team opens its 2026 developer survey, running through November 3

The annual survey asks how people use Go and what challenges they face; results are due on the Go blog in early 2027.

The Go team has opened the 2026 Go Developer Survey. It is run every year to learn how developers use the language and what problems they run into, and the answers feed into planning and priorities for the project.

The post says 5,379 people responded last year, and the most common frustration was making sure code follows best practices and Go idioms, cited by 33% of respondents. Since then the team has shipped a rewritten go fix in Go 1.26 that modernises code automatically, and added more modernizers in Go 1.27.

The survey is open through November 3, takes roughly 10 to 20 minutes, and every question is optional. Results will be published on the Go blog in early 2027. Go users and teams who want to influence priorities can complete it and share it with colleagues and communities.
